We’ve been holding out on you, friends. Unintentionally, of course. Our latest project has been underway for a few months now — and while it’s not quite ready for move-in, this place is certainly eager to tout its brand new transformation.
Built in 1915 on a cozy little corner bordering Bloomfield, Friendship, and Garfield in equal parts, 113 S Evaline Street is a real piece of work. We mean that in the nicest — and most literal — way possible.
Once dilapidated, the four-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home exudes an exterior style that’s seen so often in Friendship’s iconic buildings. We realized the potential in this one from the get-go and — despite its seemingly insurmountable challenges — are bringing it back to life, 21st century style. As a result, this home makeover is the ideal blend of functionality and effortless sophistication.
Take the kitchen and dining room, for example. Beyond matte-black quartz countertops, ebony wood floors, and top-notch appliances, we also plan to integrate an enormous walk-in pantry, a built-in butcher’s block, and — best of all — a glass garage door that opens up to a private, fenced-in backyard.
Throughout the home’s three stories, four exposed-brick fireplaces will boast custom wood mantels built by our friend John Malecki. The gifted Pittsburgh woodworker is even crafting a custom barnwood vanity for our favorite room yet: the master bath. Between an elegant soaking tub and 2-by-2 rainfall showerhead, the space is on-track to be a personal paradise. Through a sliding barn door, its adjacent master bedroom will be just as ethereal, adding a roomy walk-in closet for convenience. Upstairs, on the third and final floor, expect two more bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a full-scale kitchenette, for good measure.
