K Bennett Development’s commander in chief never ceases to surprise us. Inherently energetic and deliberately immune to negativity, Kris hails from Titusville, Pa. with a decade-long pro-BMX career on his resume. Okay, fine — he doesn’t have a resume. But as a two-time business owner, does he need one? No less extreme than Kris’ career path are his ideas: Garage-door kitchens, vaulted entryways spanning three stories, and spiral staircases have all transpired under his direction. The secret to the company’s success is a cocktail: one part spontaneity, three parts calculated planning, an occasional HGTV pilot for garnish. Sip slowly.
Keeping tabs on the core of our business is no easy feat. But if anyone’s going to smoothly ensure that renovations finish on time, under budget, and up to code, it’s this guy. On a personal level, he’s as laid-back as they come. Expect anything less than a by-the-book property evaluation, however, and you’ll be sorely disappointed: Only when a home meets Cameron’s gold standard of safety and quality will he stamp his approval.
Born and raised here in Pittsburgh, Kurt approaches home rehabilitation with an open mind and a resolute work ethic. He spends most of his time at home — at a home, anyway — as demanded by his crucial role as KBDG site manager. Regarding renovations, trust that your new living quarters have been assembled with great detail and greater discipline. As a guitar-strumming, fishing-pole-wielding Air Force vet and a family man to his core, Kurt wouldn’t have it any other way.
Though she migrated to Pittsburgh a near-decade ago, Katy’s southern roots run deep. Most often found backpacking or cycling, the S.C. native and outdoor enthusiast interestingly shares a similar passion for interior spaces. A crucial K Bennett Development component since 2017, our resident designer is NCIDQ-certified — an achievement equivalent to the Holy Grail — and bears 10-plus years’ experience in the industry. Your search for optimal functionality and timeless design ends here.
Jesse was born wearing a bow tie. It’s possible that genetics are also involved in his ability to sell houses faster than we can build them — but mostly, our in-house realtor’s success is a product of discipline, optimism, and goal-setting so ambitious, we’ve seriously questioned whether he sleeps. (For reference: This guy owns — either wholly or partially — Lifespace, Brix, and Atlas Estates…and apparently still finds time to sharpen his investment skills.) That’s why his beard is so big: It’s full of secrets.
She’s been Kris’ right-hand gal for years, but Tara’s contributions to KBDG are voluntary and pivotal. Though primarily a Pittsburgh-area wedding and lifestyle photographer, she consistently highlights her diversity by capturing our freshly renovated homes at their best. With and without her lens, she’s proven successful at exposing light in even the darkest spaces.
